the end of lap one, with Holgado
climbing to fifth from 11th on
the grid.
By lap five, Holgado took the
lead, with Adrian Fernandez
(Leopard Racing) and Piqueras
close behind. Alonso regained
the lead with nine laps to go,
upping the pace and creating
gaps in the lead group, which
included Holgado, Piqueras and
Veijer.
As the final laps unfolded,
Holgado made a daring move at
turn 14 to take the lead. But on
the last lap, Alonso reclaimed
the top spot with a double pass
at turn eight and held off Pi-
