Bou Cleans Up In Spain R epsol Honda's Toni Bou finished out the 2024 FIM TrialGP Championship by sweeping both days in Spain, September 14-15. Bou, who had already clinched the Championship, had no intentions of back - ing off at the season finale. On Saturday, Bou had to be at the top of his game because GasGas' Jaime Busto was certainly at the top of his. When all was said and done, Bou nipped his fellow Spaniard by just three points, 19-22. Bou's teammate Gabriel Marcelli was a distant third with 38 points. Adam Raga (Sher - co) and Miquel Gelabert (Vertigo) rounded out the top five. It was another close one on Sunday, with Bou again win - ning by just three points over Busto, who was battling Marcelli for second place in the overall Championship. Marcelli was again third on the day, which was enough to claim second in the Championship by just three points, 180-177. Jorge Casales (TRRS) was fourth on the day and Raga fifth. Raga finished out the year fourth and Beta's Matteo Grat - tarola fifth. "The season has ended in the best possible way, with two wins at our home race," said Bou. "In addition, the team earned a 1-2 in the Championship, so you can't ask for more. The assess - ment of the season is very good. I won all the races except for the second round in Italy, so I would like to thank the team for their great work. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate my teammate 'Gabri' for his second position in the championship. It has been a great year for us." "I'm very happy to have achieved the runner-up posi - tion," Marcelli said. "It has been a very positive year for us, albeit with some mistakes, but in the end, we have achieved the goal that we set for ourselves at the beginning of 2024." "I just made a couple of small mistakes on each day and that cost me the win, but it felt great to fight each day with Toni," Busto said. "It's great to finish the season on a high like this, and I know what I need to do for next year." CN TRIALGP (Top 5) SATURDAY 1. Toni Bou (Mon) 19 2. Jaime Busto (GG) 22 3.
