ROUND 13 / SEPTEMBER 6-8, 2024 MISANO WORLD CIRCUIT MARCO SIMONCELLI / SAN MARINO ROAD RACE I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P98 20 FABIO QUARTARARO 9TH/7TH MOTOGP "It was hard, especially the first few laps when it was starting to rain," said Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha). "Usually, rain doesn't work to our advantage, but I could stay quite close to the top guys, so it was good. I enjoyed the race. I didn't have the feeling I expected, but the position is good. I had the other riders in front of me, so whatever they did, I was following. At one moment, I was really close to going into the pits for a bike swap, but I saw that the majority of them kept going, so I decided to stay out. Luckily, the track dries superfast here, so I think it was great." 5 JOHANN ZARCO 13TH/12TH MOTOGP "I'm pleased with our strategic decision to stay on the track after the initial rain, which, thankfully, didn't escalate into a full wet race," Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) said. "We held onto the 12th position, securing valuable points. It was a calculated risk that paid off. The race was a challenge due to the weath- er conditions, and we didn't have the speed to push and fight. Tomorrow's test will be crucial, as we aim to make significant progress." MYOWNRACE Marquez leads the way during the second half of the race, which wasn't the case earlier on. Francesco Bagnaia (1) held the points position for a while but played it cool for second.
