Jarvis Wins Baja Brawl WMX

all at the previous round at
Ironman Raceway, Florida rider
Jordan Jarvis (Yamaha) used
her sand-riding skills to throw a
wrench in the works for the se

ries standings by dominating the
sandy Baja Brawl at Baja Acres
in Millington, Michigan, round six
of the Women's Pro Motocross
Championship (WMX), on Sep
-
tember 2. She went 1-1 for the
overall win.
Both of Jarvis' motos were
nearly identical, as she started
within the top three and quickly
moved into the lead in each race,
which she held until the finish.
However, 17-year-old Lachlan
Turner (Yamaha) gave her a run
for the money in the first moto,
hassling Jarvis on every lap and
pulling alongside on several oc
-
casions.
Second overall went to Turner
with a 2-3 performance, her sec-
ond runner-up finish in as many
weeks. Turner battled with Jarvis
in moto one, finishing second
ahead of Kawasaki rider Sophie
Phelps. She then tussled with
Stallings in moto two, finishing
third to Stalling's runner-up fin
-
ish.
Stallings, who came into the
race on a roll after going 1-1 at
each of the previous two rounds,
suffered from a couple of
crashes but managed to salvage
a 5-2 for third overall.
KTM rider Jamie Astudillo
grabbed the holeshot to start
the first moto and led for the
hectic first lap before Jarvis took
the lead. Close behind came
Stallings and Turner, who were
pushing hard to catch the leader
when they came together, and
Stallings went down, dropping
her to last and allowing Turner
to latch onto Jarvis, pushing the
GasGas rider to the finish.
"Lachlan came up pretty
quick and she was moving this
weekend," said Jarvis. "She was
all over me that first moto, but I
ride a pretty wide bike, and she
