he took his first overall win of
the year with 1-4 finishes. The
KTM rider dominated the open-
ing race, leading wire-to-wire for
his third moto win of the year. He
then battled tooth and nail with
Deegan at the front of moto two
with the rivals trading paint and
positions in successive laps.
"I didn't get a great start in the
first moto, and I fell on the first lap
and came from around 34th to
11th," Deegan said. "I just strug-
gled with the setup, so we went
back and changed it for the sec-
ond moto, and it was a lot better."
Vialle later dropped back to
fourth after admittedly tiring out. A
fourth still proved good enough for
the overall win and solidified his
Lawrence said. "I rode my heart
out all summer. I can't thank the
team enough for all the support
they gave me."
Monster Energy Star Racing
Yamaha's Justin Cooper took
fifth on the day with 6-4 results,
just ahead of Monster Energy
Kawasaki's Jason Anderson's
5-5, which only held up for sixth.
Phil Nicoletti ended his Pro Mo-
tocross career with a seventh in
front of Christian Craig, Freddie
Noren and Malcolm Stewart.
250MX
Despite the 250MX crown
already sitting atop Haiden
Deegan's head, his competitors
still had their sights set on an
overall win. Tom Vialle saved
"That was nice to have two
good motos this time, not just
one," Tomac said. "You always
want to win no matter what, but
you also have to be realistic.
These guys are finely tuned up
right now, and they're in race
mode. I'm pretty satisfied with
the day getting that third."
Lawrence still had a mathe-
matical shot at the championship
heading into the day but finished
fourth overall with 3-6 results.
Hunter led early in race one but
was overtaken by Sexton and
Plessinger. With the title then out
of reach and second place virtu-
ally secured, he dropped outside
the top five in the second moto.
"I'm super proud of how
this motocross season went,"
