MOTO COMBINE
The Scouting Moto Combine
concluded at the Ironman series
finale. New Zealand native Cole
Davies riding for Star Racing
Yamaha took top honors with 2-1
finishes and traded spots with
Australia's Kayden Minear, who
won the opening moto. Davies
narrowly won the all-important
moto two, barely beating Ya-
maha's Avery Long to the line by
0.683 of a second. Kawasaki's
Landen Gordon took third overall
with 4-3 finishes.
KITCHEN'S DNF
Levi Kitchen finished second in
the opening moto and was still
battling for second in the cham-
pionship points. Unfortunately for
him and his Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki Team, a crash
in moto two ended his day and
his shot for second. He went 2-35
for 11th overall. "I'm happy with
how I'm riding right now," he said.
"I felt good in the first moto and
I believe I was stronger than the
rest of the guys. In the second
moto, I got a bad start and as I
was trying to make up ground, I
ended up getting my leg caught
up under my bike and twisting it."
