By the end of lap three, the two red bikes had almost the entire back straight on the field, headed by Tytlers Cycle BMW rider JD Beach, making the re- sult almost a certainty. Polesit- ter Cameron Beaubier, dominant during Friday's practice session, was mired at the tail end of the top six, eventually making his way up to fourth by lap seven. Herrin and Baz had a one-two sewn up, but any team celebra - tions were muted as, on the penultimate lap, Baz lost the front and crashed out, promot- ing Beaubier up to second and Beach getting on the box in third. However, there was no stop- ping Herrin, who crossed the line a dominant 18 seconds up to extend his title lead to 30 points over Wrench Motor- cycles Yamaha's Bobby Fong, who finished sixth. Fourth was the exceptional Hayden Gillim on his Stock 1000-spec Honda CBR1000RR-R SP, with Sean Dylan Kelly (TopPro Racing BMW) rounding out the top five. Race two was a nailbiter. Kelly, Herrin and Beaubier cleared off at the front and swapped fast - est lap after fastest lap between them. I'm just frustrated," Cameron Beaubier said. "I feel like we can't catch a break. I don't know what was going on with my rear tire, but I had zero grip from the start, on the entry, mid-corner, exit. I was struggling so hard just to hang with these guys. I was trying to make it up all on the brakes, and then the rear end was coming around. It just felt like the tire never came in.
