We asked the question, who is the best in the world: Roger DeCoster or Heikki Mikkola? The two superstars of the sport were battling for the 500cc MX GP crown in 1974. We also reported that Mikkola clinched the championship after DeCoster DNF'd a moto in Luxembourg... We had coverage of the 250cc and Open AMA MX National at Delta Motorsport Park in Ohio. CN learned Heikki Mikkola had just won the 500cc MX World Championship as the latest issue went to press 50 years ago.
