Schareina Wins Baja Aragon
H
onda's Tosha Schareina
dominated round three of the
FIM Bajas World Cup rally, the
40th edition of the Baja Aragon,
July 26-28.
From the start, the Spaniard
set the fast pace that no one
could match, although KTM
rider Edgar Canet and Sherco's
Lorenzo Santolino gave it a good
effort, finishing second and third,
respectively. Schareina is the
first three-time winner of the
race.
"The Baja Spain Aragon is a
difficult event," said Schareina.
"One of the most difficult to man
-
age with lots of stones, dust and
intense heat. The first day, I had
a little trouble getting into the
rhythm and, in the afternoon, we
were on the morning car course
and it was very rough. In the last
special, I wanted to take advan
-
tage of opening the track and
keep my lead to take the victory,
even if it was difficult!"
In the Women's category, Sara
Garcia Alvarez (Yamaha) com
-
pleted the rally in 15th overall
and won the laurels in the FIM
Bajas World Cup. She finished
ahead of Sherco rider Aishwarya
Pissay and Tanika Shanbhag
(KTM).
