We printed our special "Vintage Racing In The '90s" issue. We featured
the legendary racer Dick Mann on the cover and chatted with AHRMA
Executive Director Je• Smith... The FIM 250cc Motocross World
Championship visited Budds Creek MX Park in Maryland, where
Je• Emig and Yves Demaria took the moto wins. The Frenchman,
Demaria, was the overall winner. Only 4000 fans turned out for the
race... Colin Edwards won the AMA Superbike National at Brainerd...
Scott Parker ran o with the Oklahoma City Half-Mile win... Kevin
Schwantz won the British
Grand Prix.
Ricky Carmichael chalked up his eighth win in a row after
going 1-1 at Washougal 20 years ago. James Stewart won the
125cc class after signing a two-year contract extension with his
Kawasaki team... We covered Noriyuki Haga's double victory in
the World Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch... Michael
Pichon closed in on points leader Stefan Everts after winning
the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic. It was the Honda rider's
third consecutive win... We interviewed road racer Jake
Zemke.
