Rins Signs Contract Extension Y amaha announced that Alex Rins will be stay- ing on as a rider with the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team through the 2026 season alongside Fabio Quartararo. "We are delighted to announce that Alex Rins will continue as a Yamaha factory rider for a further two years," said Lin Jarvis, Managing Director, Ya - maha Motor Racing. "We have clearly stated that we have a strong desire and intent to return to the top again in the MotoGP Championship. To achieve that goal, we have al - ready recruited new staff, changed our internal organizational structures, and expanded our external technical partnerships. We have additionally committed to expand our presence in 2025 with an independent second factory team and now it is time to ensure that we have the riders we want to achieve the results we, and they, crave for. "Alex signing on for two more years is an impor - tant part of our plan for the MotoGP Project. "Alex is not only a very talented and fast rider, but he is also technically savvy, a hard worker, and a real team player. The collabo - ration between Alex and Fabio gives Yamaha the confidence that together they can strengthen the bike development project. "Now that the 2025-26 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP rider lineup is established, we are greatly looking forward to the next 11 races of the 2024 season with Alex and Fabio, fully focused on the task at hand." Rins was expected to re - turn to racing at the British GP after injury but chose not to race after taking to the track Friday. CN MotoGP Set For Return to India M otoGP has signed a new contract with Invest UP, the Government of Uttar Pradesh's agency that facilitates international investment into the state. The agreement confirms the Indian Grand Prix will be on the calendar from 2025 to 2027, inclusive. The event will continue to be held at Buddh International Circuit, which made its debut on the MotoGP calendar in 2023. Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, said, "We're very happy to an - nounce this new agreement made direct- ly with the government of Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural Indian Grand Prix was a key success and brought an enormous amount of value to both MotoGP and our host region of UP, so it's fantastic we are able to continue building that together into the future. "India is an essential market for Mo - toGP, with a healthy, established audience for the racing, and one we know we can increase exponentially. There are also hundreds of millions of two-wheeled ve- hicles used across the country every day, making it vital for our manufacturers and for the sport itself thanks to MotoGP's position as the pinnacle of two wheels.
