Robinson merely hoped to avoid a
catastrophic performance and keep
his title hopes alive at Peoria. He
managed that and then some. While
he lost a small bit of ground on Jared
Mees, who inherited the inside track
to the title following Dallas Dan-
iels' injury, it was only a small bit of
ground thanks to a career-best TT
performance on Robinson's part.
He said, "Salvaged the best I could
have today in all reality. I said I was
a fifth- to ninth-place guy coming into
it and ended up fifth. That's a good
day. That's the best we've ever done
at a TT, so that's pretty cool. I don't
know what else to say. We'll go to
Rapid City where we should be able
to contend for the win. We'll look to
claw our way back into it there and at
Springfield."
