of the leaders. Shimoda has
picked up steam lately but did
suffer a DNF at Spring Creek the
week before. Still, Shimoda has
finished on the podium in four of
the last seven motos. He is fifth
in the series standings, just four
points back from fourth and 20
back from third.
"Right now, I feel good, but
compared to [Deegan and
Vialle], I feel like I'm lacking on
pace," Shimoda said. "This all
starts from qualifying. I haven't
consistently been in the top five.
So, I have to keep my average
speed up and have no option to
drop back."

"I hurt my hand last weekend,
and I couldn't train all week,"
Vialle said after the race. "I
didn't have the same flow, and
he [Deegan] was ripping when
he passed me. I followed for
maybe four or five laps. I had a
few mistakes and it was tough."

Vialle meant business all day
at Washougal. The KTM rider
hinted at a hand injury after the
race, but no one could tell that
on the track as he led the open-
ing moto from start to finish. It
was his
second moto win of the
season, his first coming in round
two at Hangtown.
The two-time MX2 World
Champion, Vialle, grabbed
another holeshot in race two
and led the first five laps before
Deegan got him. Then it was
Vialle who cruised in the lonely
second place, finishing 14 sec

ond overall put Vialle on the box

moved him ahead of Levi
Kitchen, who had an off day,
