Nichols Signs With H.E.P. Motorsports Suzuki C olt Nichols, who recently parted ways with Beta USA, has signed with the H.E.P. Mo- torsports Twisted Tea Suzuki Team. Nichols will finish out the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship with the squad and compete in the SuperMoto- cross Playoff rounds later this year before racing the entire 2025 season with the team. Nichols joins teammates Shane McElrath and Kyle Chisholm. "I'm very excited to be join - ing the H.E.P. Suzuki team," said Nichols. "It's pretty cool to get to sign in 2024, get some races under our belt this year, iron out a few things and hopefully come into 2025 swinging. I'm very happy to be a part of the team and am grateful for the opportu - nity to get to work with the staff and the bike to get this whole thing figured out." "The team is thrilled to have an athlete of Colt's caliber join the team," said Dustin Pipes, team principal of the Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motorsports/Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance team. "Being a former Lites Champion, Colt has the talent and pedigree to race his Suzuki RM-Z450 to great results. In the short time we have worked together, Colt has been very insightful and contributory on how to improve the motorcycle as we progress throughout this partnership. I look forward to seeing Colt on the starting line." Nichols' first race on the Suzuki will be at the Unadilla round of Pro Motocross on August 10. CN VOLUME ISSUE JULY , P33 Colt Nichols, who recently parted ways with the upstart Beta MX team, signed with the H.E.P. Motorsport/ Twisted Tea Suzuki team. His first race on the Suzuki will be at Unadilla. Tomac To Make Budds Creek Comeback? M onster Energy Star Racing Yamaha's Eli Tomac says he's back on the motorcycle and is eyeing a return to racing at the Budds Creek round of the Pro Motocross Champi - onship, August 17. Tomac injured his thumb at the Den- ver Supercross and has been sidelined ever since. Tomac said via social me- dia on Sunday evening, "Finally back on the motorcycle tomor- row! I've been out on my MTB a few times, trying to build confidence and strength back in my thumb. It's been a long recovery but now starting to make real progress with the pins removed. When will I be back? That's still TBD, but I'm sure after a few rides, I'll know a realistic timeframe. Hoping for around Budds Creek." Tomac is hoping to get a few races under his belt before the SuperMotocross Playoffs, which get underway, September 7. CN Eli Tomac says he's hoping to make his racing comeback from injury at Budds Creek.
