6D Helmets Launches New ATR-3 Off-Road Helmet 6 D Helmets released the new ATR- 3, the brand's newest off-road motorcycle helmet. It features the company's fifth-generation Omni- Directional Suspension (ODS 5) system, is 120 grams lighter weight than the ATR-2, offers more venting, and can mitigate impacts in a broad- er range of conditions, says 6D. Its shear-away visor screws are recessed, and the helmet is compatible with drink tubes. The ATR-3 also has a removable roost guard, and the antibacterial comfort liner is removable for washing. "With over 13 years of experience in helmet development, 6D's Omni-Directional Suspen - sion technology has been rigorously tested and proven effective worldwide across multiple helmet platforms," said Bob Weber, 6D's CEO and co-founder. "We continuously challenge our - selves to enhance our technology and advanced rider safety. This on-going pursuit of innovation has led to the creation of the ATR-3—the lightest, best-ventilated, and most technically advanced helmet we have ever produced." There are 20 different colorways to choose from: three solids ($759.95) and 17 colorways within the five graphics ($795.95). A mud-visor extension and a storage bag are included. On July 15, the FIM announced that the 6D ATR-3 meets FIM homologation rules for its off-road-helmet standards, which will become mandatory for FIM-sanctioned races starting in 2026, with a few exceptions, like Trial riding. We spent a scorching day at Glen Helen Race - way trying the new ATR-3 and can attest to its lighter weight and increased venting. After going back-to-back with the previous ATR-2, updates to the new helmet are obvious. Plus, the new graph- ics, like the Nova Carbon (featured here), look good with just about any kit.
