It didn't get much better for the
chasing pack in race one as Beau-
bier streaked away to record his first
win since
breaking his heel in race
one at Road America. The Northern
Californian backed off the pace on
the final lap as Herrin and Petersen
closed in, but the result was never in
doubt, Beaubier crossing the line 1.1
seconds clear, despite admitting af-
terward that he was a little fatigued.
"To
be honest, I'm pretty tired,"
he said. "I'm definitely struggling a
little bit with my fitness because I
haven't done anything in the past
month... definitely not my normal
program. [But] it feels amazing to
get this today."
