was eighth. Garrett Gerloff had a tough weekend all around, with 12th place in qualifying, then race re- sults of 14-14-13, scoring some points in each of the "long" races. "For sure, this weekend has been a tough one," Gerloff said. "I came here with high expecta - tions and the results we have seen here have shown what the bike is capable of. Congrats to Toprak on his wins and to Scott on his strong results, but for whatever reason, we could not bring it together for me. We worked hard and tried a lot, but the field is so close that even with a strong pace and good feeling in qualifying, I had to set - tle with 12th on the grid. From there, it is not easy to get strong race results. I am disappointed because more would have been possible." In the championship points, Razgatlioglu leads on 241, Bulega has an even 200, Bau - tista 186 and Lowes 165. WorldSSP Adrian Huertas (Aruba Ducati) romped away to win the fifth Saturday race of 2024, ending up over four seconds ahead of his closest rival. Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Ducati) holeshotted the first race, but one lap later, Huer - tas was back in front and eased away at lap-record pace with a 1'28.861. Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate), not Montella, would finish second, with Mon - tella the final podium rider. Fourth was the ever-improving new Ducati rider, Jorge Na- varro (Orelac Racing Verdnatura Ducati), who has made a quick transition from the Triumph he started the season on. Valentin Debise (Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha) was fifth and the top MV Agusta belonged to Turkey's Bahattin Sofuoglu (MV Agusta Reparto Corse). Son of WorldSBK legend Troy Bayliss, Oli, was a top 10 finisher in eighth, riding for former of - ficial Ducati rider, Davide Giug- liano. In the second race, a four-rider accident on lap two saw the race stopped and then restarted over 12 laps, not 19. The intense sprint race in all but name saw some riders not make it to the restart. Tom Ed - wards started from pitlane even after the rest had started. Huertas and Montella fought it out, but this time Montella crossed the line first, after another great battle of the top Ducatis. He was, however, to lose his "win" to Huertas be - cause Montella had strayed onto the green paint at T9 on the last lap—which delivers a mandatory one-place drop to any rider. With Huertas the winner and Montella the runner-up, third place went to the ever-improving Navarro, who started the season on a Triumph but is enjoying his swap to V2 power. Fourth place was taken by the ever-potent Manzi, fifth by local rider Tom Booth-Amos, riding for the UK-based PRT Triumph team. Sixth was Finnish rider Niki Tuuli (EAB Ducati). Glenn van Straalen (Ten Kate Racing Ya - maha) placed seventh and the upwardly mobile Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha) eighth. In the championship points, after 10 races, Huertas has 186, Montella 161 and Manzi (fourth in race two) on 147. The next round takes place at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic, July 19-21.
