On the final lap, Ogura outmaneuvered Vietti in the last two corners to secure third, with Moreira also passing Vietti on the run to the line. Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) finished just 0.118 of a second away from the podium in sixth, while cham- pionship leader Garcia settled for seventh, ahead of the im- pressive Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing), who battled through the pain of his broken collarbone to secure a valuable eighth place at the Sachsenring. In the championship, Garcia holds a seven-point lead over Ogura, 147 to 140. Roberts is still well and truly in it on 123. overtaken, demoting the Span - iard to third. Aldeguer soon regained second place, with Dixon and Senna Agius (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) completing the top five as a Moto2 freight train formed. In the final laps, Aldeguer cruised to a 2.1-second victory over Dixon, who broke clear of MOTO2 Fermin Aldeguer (MB Conveyors SpeedUp) secured his first victo- ry since the Spanish GP, breaking away in the final stages to defeat Jake Dixon (CFMoto Polarcube Aspar Team) by 2.1 seconds. Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI) made a late charge to clinch his fourth podium of the season, finishing third in Germany. Dixon seized the holeshot, but polesitter Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo) quickly reclaimed the lead on lap one. Aldeguer took the lead for the first time on lap three, with Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) and Aldeguer passing Vietti in quick succession. On lap six, Arbolino led for the first time, as Vietti took advantage of Aldeguer being ROUND 9 / JULY 5-7, 2024 SACHSENRING / SAXONY, GERMANY ROAD RACE I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P90 Fermin Aldeguer (54) finally converted qualifying speed to a win in Moto2, his first since Jerez.
