"I didn't even know I had the overall until I came into im - pound, and everyone was so stoked," Hymas said. "A 4-1 last time, I barely got second! It's good to do it on the Fourth of July weekend and be the only American on the team, espe - cially getting my first overall win here. It's a bucket-list win. The second moto, I had a big gap, but Jo [Shimoda] reeled me in, and I had to pick up the pace." Ty Masterpool finished sec - ond overall but highlighted his day with a big win in moto one. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider is still considered Australian Kyle Webster, on the "Me"-sponsored Honda, ran up front in moto two and eventu - ally took eighth overall, just clear of Estonia's Harri Kullas (KTM). Christian Craig (Husqvarna) rounded out the top 10. 250MX Hymas earned his first-ever career overall win in the 250MX division. The Honda HRC rider started up front in both races, leading the first half of moto one before eventually fading back to fourth. Race two saw a revived Hymas right his wrongs and lead wire to wire for his second moto win of the year. This dominant win gave him top honors as the rest of the field duked it out behind him. Hymas was later Kawasaki's Jason Anderson improved as the day wore on and landed on the box in race two, going 5-3 for fourth overall. "I grabbed the holeshot and was battling in second until a mistake on my part sent me off track, and I moved back to third," Ander - son said. "I'm still happy to have landed back on the podium again and being so close to an overall." Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha's Justin Cooper finished third in race one, but a sixth in moto two dropped him back to fifth on the day. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Malcolm Stewart had his best moto finish with a sixth in moto one, going 6-7 for sixth overall ahead of Garrett Marchbanks on the Muc- Off/FXR/Club MX Yamaha.
