Moto X Highlights 2024 X Games T he Ventura County Fair- grounds hosted the 2024 Summer X Games along the California coastline. Three Moto X events highlighted the week - end's action with the Best Whip, Best Trick and Quarter Pipe High Air competitions. Best Whip Patrick Evans stole the show in Best Whip as he piloted his Stark Varg off the taller and steeper "Next-Gen" ramp. The Fasthouse- backed rider undoubtedly sent the biggest whips of the night, going backwards in both direc - tions and even upside down. He earned his first-ever medal with the gold, followed by Belgium's Julien Van Stippen in second, and 2023 gold medalist Tyler Bereman claimed the bronze. Best Trick Best Trick brought the most sus- penseful jumps of the weekend, as riders went for medals in a two-jump format. Two Austra- lians, Jackson Strong and Rob Adleberg, uncorked front-flip vari- ations in their runs: a Cliffhanger from Strong and a Lazyboy from Adleberg. Adleberg held the top spot until "Jacko's" final jump when he executed a massive ex- tension on his upside-down Cliff- hanger. His clutch performance bumped him up to the gold- medal spot and pushed Adleberg to silver. Harry Bink made it an Aussie sweep, as he took bronze with a 75-foot double backflip. High Air The Quarter Pipe High Air capped off the weekend with rid- ers pushing their limits off the 18-foot-tall metal quarter pipe. Australia's Corey Creed re- peatedly set the tallest heights in the competition, finishing his fi- nal jump with a massive air of 53 feet and seven inches. Defend- ing gold medalist Colby Raha rode a Stark Varg in this year's event but came two feet short of Creed's height. In his final jump, Raha uncorked a 51'7" to take silver. Spanish motocrosser- turned-free- rider Guillem Navas earned the bronze medal on his last run with a height of 51'0" and knocked Axell Hodges out of medal con - tention. Ryan Nitzen Best Whip 1.
