He bounced back for the second
moto and stalked Vialle late
into the race. Once Vialle ran
into lappers, Shimoda made his
move for the lead and led the
final three laps of the race. The
second-moto win catapulted his
overall results, bumping him to
third on the day. He's fifth in the
season points standings.
"At the beginning of the sea-
son, the ligaments in my ankle
were torn," Shimoda said. "I'm
in a situation where if I dab my
foot, it's game over. But we fight
through that and obviously didn't
spend time on the bike because
of the ankle. Each weekend, I'm
on a new setup and wasting my
first qualifying session. Today,

three-way battle involving Vialle, Deegan
and Shimoda (leading), who won.
