VOLUME ISSUE JUNE , P83 BY RENNIE SCAYSBROOK PHOTOGRAPHY BY BRIAN J. NELSON F astest in practice, fastest in qualifying, winner in race one and winner in race two, and now the series points leader by eight points—it's safe to say round four for the 2024 Steel Commander MotoAmer - ica Superbike Championship is one Bobby Fong won't forget in a hurry. Riding for the privateer Wrench Motor - cycles Yamaha team headed by long-time MotoAmerica veteran David Anthony, Fong was superb at a track he's known to be fast at, but even he may have doubted how dominant he would eventually be. The only session Fong didn't lead was the Sunday morning warmup in which the Wrench Motorcycles outfit tried a new setup on the R1 that didn't work, the team reverting to Saturday's setting that would see Fong ultimately clear off to a resound - ing 3.8-second win over Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati's Josh Herrin and Attack Performance/Progressive/Yamaha Rac - ing's Cameron Petersen. Bobby Fong (50) was untouchable in Brainerd, besting Josh Herrin (2) and the rest of the field in both races.
