Kelly's weekend started off
well enough, the Floridian taking
another top five in fourth in race
one, but it would end in a shower
of broken carbon fiber thanks to
a violent crash on lap five at turn
three, the BMW pitching side

ways and sending Kelly flying
over the highside and out of the
race, thankfully without injury.
Kelly's crash proved to be an-
other case of wrong place, wrong
time for Baz, who had to take
avoiding action onto the grass
and lost touch with the battle for
the podium with Herrin, Petersen
and Fong. He would come home
in fourth in race two.
The meeting proved another
tough one for current and three-
time champion Jake Gagne. The
number one again suffered from
his worrying arm-pump issues,
carding an eighth in race one and
seventh in race two on the At
-
tack Performance/Progressive/
Race two was better for
Petersen in third, although he
could do nothing about Fong
who took the holeshot and
bolted early on.
"I'm position-wise quite a bit
better, but in terms of race pace
and the way I rode, I feel like I
rode worse than I did yesterday,"
Petersen said. "Yesterday, I just
got caught up with lappers in the
last few laps. It was a tough race.
I tried to go with Bobby in the
beginning today and his pace was
pretty hot and I was just pretty
sloppy, making a lot of mistakes,
running wide, and really struggling
with rear grip pretty much from
lap one. But I'm stoked to be on

been around here 19 years now

Cameron Petersen's podium
form continued at Brainerd. The
South African was always in the
mix, leading the first half of race
one until Fong came past, but
eventually falling to fifth by the
flag behind Fong, Herrin, Baz and
TopPro BMW's Sean Dylan Kelly.
