a lot of work to do. I had two
stupid crashes: pretty dumb,
actually. I've got to stay off the
ground. I felt like I wasn't really
pushing but had these weird
crashes."
"Chase had some good lines,
and it was a bummer to see
him go down—that was his race
for sure," Sexton said. "I didn't
feel as good, and my shoulder
was fatiguing a bit more today.
We were struggling a bit there,
another three seconds back
in third. Sexton had the quick

est lap time in both motos,
but it wasn't enough to get the
win. However, the KTM rider
grabbed second overall to keep
pace with points leader Hunter.
"I felt like my speed was pret

ty good in the second moto,"
Sexton said. "From the first
moto to the second, I felt like a
different person. We changed

Ty Masterpool's win on the Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Team
was the team's 300th victory. The
team started out on Hondas 24
years ago. Brian Swink gave team
founder Mitch Payton his first win
in 1991 in the 125cc East division
at the Orlando Supercross. Ricky
Carmichael owns Pro Circuit's most
wins at 38, followed by Ryan Vil-
lopoto with 30 wins. The team's first
100 wins were celebrated following
Ivan Tedesco's 125WSX victory in
2004 in Anaheim, California, and the
200th win was celebrated after Dean
Wilson's win at the Atlanta Super-
cross in 2011. Payton has collected
31 total championships and has no
plans on slowing down.
LAST-MINUTE CHANGES
Chase Sexton made some frantic
last-minute changes to his motorcy-
cle at the starting gate of the second
moto. "We did a big change after
the first moto with the bike," Sexton
said. "I did the sight lap, and I'm like,
'I've got to get back quickly to make
a change. This ain't going to work
for 30 minutes,' so we just adjusted
the ride height of the bike [raised the
fork tubes] and I'm glad we did it. I
was actually putting gas in my bike
by myself; Kyle [Defoe, his mechan-
ic] was doing the forks. I was spilling
gas everywhere, on my hands, on
my seat. I probably shouldn't touch
bikes."
