Drama ensued almost imme

diately, as Dani Holgado (Red
Bull GasGas Tech3) collided
with other riders at San Donato,
causing Jose Antonio Rueda
(Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Stefano
Nepa (LevelUp-MTA) to crash
out. Holgado received a double
long-lap penalty for irrespon

sible riding.
At the front, a leading group
of six emerged, including Alon

so, Veijer, Yamanaka, Ivan Ortola

(16) lit up Moto2 with a
nail-biting win—his first
full-length GP win and the
first of any kind for the
American Racing Team.
It must be a heck
of a feeling being
Italian and winning in
Italy on a Ducati.
