at San Donato, then aimed for Martin. Bagnaia had extended his lead once more and Bas- tianini became the focus, pass- ing Marquez at Scarperia on the penultimate lap. Bagnaia secured his third con- secutive Italian GP win, complet- ing a Mugello double, while Bas- tianini's late surge saw him close the gap to Martin and execute a perfect coup de grace at the second, regardless of the pres- sure exerted on him. Martin remained close but couldn't mount a challenge, while Pedro Acosta advanced steadily forward. Marquez's move on Bas- tianini allowed Acosta to catch up, but Acosta couldn't find a way past the eight-time World Cham- pion Marquez and lost ground. As the race neared its end, Marquez overtook Bastianini blow for Martin, and although he missed the holeshot into turn one at San Donato, he lit the afterburn- ers up the hill and rode around the outside of Bastianini and Martin into the turn-two corner of Luco to wrench the lead away from the Prima Pramac Ducati man.
