Star Racing Yamaha rider said
losing out on the Supercross
title motivated him going into
this year's outdoor season. A
late-race pass on Levi Kitchen in
race one gave him the early win
before leading every lap of moto
two. An off-track excursion in
the second came under official
review, but Deegan's 1-1 sweep
held up under the AMA's micro

scope. A double victory to start
the series puts the
2023 SMX
champion up front early.
