It was kind of chaotic, but we
had a good pace going. I passed
Hunter in the switchback right
here, and the pace went up a little
bit. Then I went off the track, but
I tried my best. When I'd come
up on him [Jett], he'd answer, so
I just have to be better at finding
more pace."
Former 450MX Champion
Dylan Ferrandis finished just off
the box in fourth ahead of Justin
Barcia and 450MX rookie Justin
Cooper. Jason Anderson crashed
in race one but salvaged seventh
overall with a fourth in moto two.
Aaron Plessinger took third in
race one but a first-turn crash
in race two derailed his overall
hopes back to eighth. Malcolm
PAYING TRIBUTE
Hunter Lawrence wore special
yellow-and-green gear at Fox
Raceway, part of an Alpinestars
collaboration with the McLaren
Formula One team, honoring
F1 legend Ayrton Senna, who
died 40 years ago. Lawrence
did the look well by putting the
bike on the podium in second
overall. McLaren drivers Oscar
Piastri and Lando Norris sported
similar liveries on their cars and
suits during Sunday's Monaco
Grand Prix. MotoGP racer Pec-
co Bagnaia also ran the colors
of the Brazilian flag in Catalunya
to remember Ayrton.
RESULTS-GATE
The official results of the sec-
ond 250 moto were delayed
for more than two hours as
AMA officials reviewed Haiden
Deegan's off-track excursion.
The incident was like Tom Vi-
alle's off-track situation, and the
KTM rider was docked one posi-
tion. Had Deegan received the
same punishment, Levi Kitchen
would have been declared the
day's overall winner with a 2-1.
Deegan would've been second
overall with a 1-2. However,
after much deliberation, the
original results with Deegan
going 1-1 stood.
