FIRST LOOK I 2025 HONDA CRF-R & CRF-RWE MOTOCROSSERS
shock rides on a linkage with a new
one-piece structure; leverage ratio is
also new to "decrease pitching while
improving bottoming resistance."
The subframe has been redesigned
to make rear shock removal easier.
As for the engine, Honda says it
has improved intake airflow for in
-
creased top-end power and changed
the length of the exhaust header pipe
to improve bottom-end performance.
ECU mapping has also been tweaked.
The 2025 CRF250R has received
the same chassis, suspension,
engine, and bodywork changes as
the 450, which is a departure from
the norm. Typically, the 250 model
would receive the 450's updates a
year later. However, there are sev
-
eral differences unique to the 250,
so their frames and suspensions are
not identical but very similar.
Both bikes are offered in upgrad
-
ed WE (Works Edition) trim. This is a
first for the 250. The big news here
is that, with the 250, the CRF250WE,
among several other updates, fea-
tures a hydraulic clutch. The stan-
dard model is fitted with a cable-
operated clutch. (As before, the two
450s feature hydraulic clutches.)
The 2025 CRF250R will be avail-
able in July, the CRF250RWE in Sep-
tember, the CRF450R in August, and
the CRF450RWE in November.
