ROUND 2, MAY 17-19, 2024
BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK / BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA
ROAD RACE I MOTOAMERICA / FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP
P70
seconds clear of Cassidy Heiser
(Chiefs Racing Team Yamaha)
and Dominic Doyle (Giaccmoto
Yamaha Racing).
But that was in the wet, and
come Sunday's dry race two, it
was game on as another rising
star, 15-year-old Alessandro
Di Mario on the Rodio Racing -
Powered by Robem Engineering
Aprilia, put on a display beyond
his meager years by taking
a first career MotoAmerica
win ahead of former two-time
class champion Rocco Land-
ers (RevZilla/Motul/Vance &
Hines Suzuki), with
Di Mario's
teammate Gus Rodio third, 1.7
seconds off Di Mario.
After three rounds of Twins
Cup competition, Rodio holds
Cunnison just dragging Badie
to the line by 0.045 of a second,
with Medina third, four-tenths of
a second back.
After a troubled start to the
year following his no-score in
race two at Road Atlanta, Cun
-
nison moves up to second in the
points
on 63, 14 down on leader
Medina. Matthew Chapin, who
carded a fifth and a sixth on the
Bartcon Racing Kawasaki, is
third on 55.
TWINS CUP
Current Junior Cup Champion
Avery Dreher (TopPro Racing
Team Aprilia) continued his pur
-
ple patch of form with the race-
one
win in the pouring Saturday
afternoon rain, coming home 2.7
There's only five rounds of
Stock 1000 this year and Gillim
is already off to the perfect start
on 50 points to Prince's 36 and
Irishman Richard Kerr (AMD
Motorsport RK Racing Honda)
third on 21.
JUNIOR CUP
It was a double delight for
Speed Demon Racing Kawa-
saki's Logan Cunnison in the Ju-
nior Cup, who took his first and
second
pro-level win at Barber.
Race one had Cunnison home
two seconds clear of round-one
winner Yandel Medina (New
York Safety Track Racing Kawa
-
saki) and Levi Badie (Karns Per-
formance Kawasaki), but in race
two he
really had to work for it,
It was tight at the front, but
Scholtz (11) came away with
both Supersport wins.
