Ducati Unveils Ayrton Senna Tribute Monster J ust two weeks on from the 30th anniversary of the great Ayrton Senna's death, Formula One reconvened at Imola for the seventh round of the 2024 Championship at Imola, the very circuit where the three-time World Champion lost his life. To commemorate the oc - casion, Ducati was on hand to unveil the brand-new Monster Senna. Based on the company's Monster SP, the Monster Senna is resplendent in the colors of Brazil and of the iconic Senna helmet that he wore for the entirety of his career, never once changing the design or colors of his homeland in which he was revered almost as a demi-god. Senna was a huge fan of Ducati, having first received an 851 SP in 1990 as a gift from then-Ducati CEO Claudio Casti - glioni. Senna became infatuated with the brand and was one of the first owners of the original Ducati Monster 900 when it was released in 1992. He would later collaborate with Ducati on the legendary 916 Senna a couple of months be - fore his death in 1994 behind the wheel of the Rothmans Williams Formula One car. Ducati and the Senna family agreed to release the machine as a production model later in 1994. The collaboration with Senna Brands resumed in 2014 with the 1199 Panigale, which featured a limited series of 161 units—the same number of Grands Prix raced by Ayrton—reserved for the Brazilian market. This new Monster Senna is limited to 341: The numeral three marks the number of Formula One World Champion - ships he won, and 41 denotes the number of times he stood on the top step of the podium as a GP winner. "Ayrton Senna was and will forever stand as an icon," said Claudio Domenicali, Ducati Motor Holding CEO. "A sports legend, an extraordinary person, and a passionate motorcyclist whom we wish to honor with a special edition of one of the most iconic models in our range: the Monster. Senna was one of the very first owners of the Monster 900 and perfectly rep - resented the values of this bike: style, boldness, and fun. The Monster Senna demonstrates how honored we are to define a champion of this incredible level as a true Ducatista." CN VOLUME ISSUE MAY , P29 Ducati released the limited-edition Monster Senna in honor of the late Formula One Champion, Ayrton Senna.
