Tomac in for Outdoor MX, SMX
Playoffs and Maybe More
E
li Tomac has extended his
agreement with the Monster
Energy Star Racing Yamaha team
to make another run at the AMA
Pro Motocross Championship in
2024. At the end of the season,
he will also compete in the three-
round SuperMotocross playoffs.
"We can officially announce
that we are in for the full SMX
season," Tomac said. "It really
came down to wanting to con
-
tinue what we have going on.
I've been feeling great on the
motorcycle. We're getting into
our groove, and I feel like we're
going to be strong in Pro Moto
-
cross and for the SMX series. I'm
excited to keep racing!"
Jim Roach, Yamaha Racing
Department Manager for YMUS,
said, "We're happy to have Eli
race the entire SMX World Cham
-
pionship and make another title
run in Pro Motocross. It's not only
great for Yamaha and the team
to see Eli continue racing, but
also for the sport. The racing has
been better than ever in Super
-
cross, and we look forward to the
upcoming outdoor season and
SMX series."
"We're excited to have Eli on
board for the whole SMX season,"
Jeremy Coker, Monster Energy
Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team
Manager, said. "It's been a great
year so far with his return to
racing after last year's injury, and
we're looking to build on our mo
-
mentum going into the outdoor
season. We're looking to bring
the number-one plate back."
Tomac did not compete in last
year's outdoor series due to the
Achilles injury that he suffered at
last year's Denver Supercross.
Tomac has also suggested
that he'll keep racing in 2025 in
one form or another.
