HRC, Roan van de
Moosdijk Part Ways
A
fter only two rounds togeth-
er, the Honda HRC MXGP
Team has parted ways with
MXGP rookie Roan van de Moos
-
dijk. The Dutch rider suffered a
knee injury in a preseason race
in Hawkstone Park while he was
under the Fantic Racing Team
umbrella, but van de Moosdijk
felt that he was ready to have
another go, and signed with Hon
-
da to fill in for Ruben Fernandez,
who was injured at the opening
round in Argentina.
The deal only lasted two
rounds, unfortunately. Van de
Moosdijk struggled with the high
temperatures in the Sardinia
round, saying, "Tough weekend,
and not exactly how I hoped my
debut would go. The conditions
were extremely difficult and I
felt it was better to fight another
day, than to push over the limit
and put myself in danger." And in
Trentino, he was in too much pain
and withdrew from both motos,
saying, "Overnight I made the
difficult decision to pull out of the
GP. I didn't have a good qualifica
-
tion race and I know my body and
it just wasn't feeling right, and I
knew it was similar to how I was
feeling in the preseason and that
wasn't good for me."
The team's official word read,
"Fill-in rider Roan van de Moos
-
dijk and Team HRC have mutu-
ally ended their relationship after
further check-ups on the Dutch
rider's knee have revealed that it
would be unwise for the number
39 to race in the immediate future.
Instead, v/d Moosdijk will take
all the time necessary to recover
from this issue, and then hopefully
come back to the MXGP world
championship where he can then
give it 100 percent. Everyone at
Team HRC wishes v/d Moos
-
dijk all the best in the future and
thanks him for the professional
attitude he brought to the team
in the couple of weeks he spent
under the awning."

Roczen, McAdoo Out
For Supercross Season
K
en Roczen will sit out the
rest of the Supercross Series
while he recovers from the crash
he had in Nashville. Roczen suf-
fered a broken tibia plateau, foot
and toe. Luckily, it appears he
won't need to go under the knife.
"After further evaluation, it
looks like I will be out for a little
bit," he said. "No surgery is re
-
quired as of right now, but we are
still gathering some information
and further evaluation."
Former 250SX East points
leader Cameron McAdoo suf
-
fered a "broken scapula" and a
"partial tear" in his
shoulder muscle at
Nashville.
"It is crazy how
quickly things can
change in this
sport," McAdoo
said. "I started
the weekend off
strong with a
third-overall qualifying spot. In
my heat race, I got caught behind
some riders on the ground, and
then they red-flagged it. After the
restart, I managed to pull off a
sixth. The night quickly changed
for me when I got together [with
another rider] in the rhythm sec
-
tion in the main, causing me to
go down very hard on my side,
and then I was run over by a
competitor."
