Max Whale continued to impress as
a rookie while demonstrating that
the XG750R can compete with the
heavy hitters when in the right hands.
The Aussie should only continue to
improve as he comes to grips with
the team, the bike and the class. He
said, "This was a very tough track,
but I don't mind that. It was funny—my
first time running relatively close
to some guys that I idolized—Briar,
Vanderkooi—and I passed some
quick dudes. I'm very happy with my
result. Even though it's a seventh, it
feels like a podium, to be honest. I
had good late-race pace and caught
some fast guys up. That means a lot,
it really does."
