definitely back,
but I didn't know
where he got up to. But yeah,
just stoked to have a night play
in my hand."
Jo Shimoda matched his sea-
son-best finish with a second
in Nashville and made
it a West
Coast 1-2 on the podium. The
Honda rider moved into second
place early on but was not able
to match the pace of Hampshire
up front. This is a strong ride
for the Japanese native, as he
pionship. The Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna rider did exactly that,
as he led wire-to-wire in the
19-lap main event against both
the East and West Coast racers.
This dominant ride marks his
third win this season. More im
-
portantly, Hampshire now takes
over
the points lead by two after
troubles for both his other rivals,
Kitchen and Jordon Smith.
"I knew I had to win no matter
what, and whatever plays out
behind me, plays out," Hamp-
shire said. "I checked the board
on
lap three or four, and I didn't
see him [Kitchen] in the top five.
Maybe six or seven laps in, I
ploded. We'll be back, I just don't
know when yet."
250SX EAST-WEST
SHOWDOWN
Both coasts of 250SX competi-
tors came together in Nashville
for
the first of two East-West
Showdowns of the year. Mon-
ster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki
riders Cameron
McAdoo and
Levi Kitchen entered the night
holding the red plates on the
East and West, respectively.
