Honda HRC rider showed what
he is capable of when he gets
a good start. Even though his
championship hopes are virtu-
ally out the window at this point,
Shimoda is still building posi-
tives as the series nears the end
with five rounds left to go.
"I had some of the best starts
I've had all year today, but the
pace just wasn't there," admit-
ted Shimoda. "I just struggled a
little bit all day. I'm happy to see
that I'm putting it all together
though."
Jordon Smith bounced back
from his disastrous 14th-place
finish at last weekend's round in
Seattle to take third in St. Louis.
The Star Racing Yamaha pilot
rode strong in all three main
or near the front in every main
event. A second place in the first
race proved to be his best finish
of the night, and he backed it up
with a pair of thirds. The Team
Saturday night with a second.
The Honda rider has struggled
with his starts all year long, but
managed to turn things around
in St. Louis and he started at
