Our April Fool's issue didn't fool anyone... We did, however, test the 1974 Suzuki TM400. We were rather kind and tried to highlight some of its positives rather than all its negatives, saying it's "fast, inexpensive but not quite like DeCoster's."... We also tested the new Husqvarna 400 CR. We said that if you want to ride like Heikki Mikkola or Brad Lackey, you need one of these first... We had coverage of the Great Bear Grand Prix from Riverside International Raceway and the Cal Rayborn Memorial Half-Mile from Chula Vista, California. YEARS AGO APRIL , P120 LOOKING BACK I Winners David Bailey and Johnny O'Mara from the first Paris Supercross were pictured on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago... We also covered of the Houston Supercross that David Bailey won. Ron Lechien was second and Broc Glover third... Scott and Kurt Pfei‹er paired up to win the SCORE San Felipe 250... Terry Vance won the NHRA National opener at Gainesville Raceway... We previewed the 1984 Road Race Grand Prix Championship. YEARS AGO APRIL , Scott Burnworth (Left) could not save this classic endo at the Houston Supercross in 1984. East meets West during the Sumter GNCC in 1994. Scott Summers (2) and Ty Davis (147) got slightly close during the race.
