rima Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin has
firmly announced he means business in
the 2024 MotoGP World Championship by
taking a commanding win in the Sunday Grand
Prix at Portimao to open up an 18-point lead in
the series over Red Bull KTM's Brad Binder.
Martin was never anything more than in
perfect control throughout the 25-lap encoun

ter, coming home eight-tenths of a second
ahead of polesitter Enea Bastianini (Ducati
Lenovo Team) and sensational rookie Pedro
Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3).
In Moto2, Aron Canet (Fantic Racing), at
long last, banished the second-place demons
to take his first career victory in the class. The
Spaniard put on a dominant display to head
the in-form Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American
Racing Team) and first-time podium man
Manuel Gonzalez (QJMotor Gresini Moto2).
The Moto3 category saw title favorite
Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) hold
it to the line by the skin of his teeth over Jose
Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Ivan
Ortola (MT Helmets MSI).
And over in MotoE, Nicholas Spinelli
(Tech3 E-Racing) and Mattia Casadei (LCR
E-Team) shared the spoils.
