Mosiman to Star Racing Yamaha I t's official: Michael Mosiman is now a member of the Mon- ster Energy Star Racing Yamaha Team. Mosiman, who has been sidelined by injury since last year, signed a multi-year deal that will see him finish out the 2024 250SX West Championship and then take on the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in the 250MX class. This also includes the combined AMA SuperMoto - cross World Finals. The 250SX West Championship resumes on March 23 in Seattle. "I am honored to be a part of such a successful team and to be surrounded by so many driven individuals," Mosiman said. "In my short time of getting to know the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team, I have been impressed with the dedication, commitment, and passion they have for the sport and for win - ning. Being off the bike and away from racing for a bit has allowed me to truly reset and return stron - ger both physically and mentally. I think the partnership with Star Yamaha could not have come at a better time in my career." Team Manager Jensen Hendler said, "We've only been working with him for a little bit, but we feel he has the speed and can battle up front. It's not easy to jump into a season that's already been rolling, but we're looking forward to seeing what he can do and are looking forward to Seattle." Yamaha Grants Exceed $1 Million in 2023 Y amaha Motor USA's Yamaha Outdoor Ac- cess Initiative (OAI) contributed over $1 million in grant awards in 2023, marking the largest annual funding total since the pro- gram's inception in 2008. Steve Nessl, Yamaha's motorsports mar- keting manager, said, "Yamaha's goal for the Outdoor Access Initiative is to serve as a meaningful resource to those supporting access to public land for all types of recreation. Investing $1 million in one year is a significant achievement. We remain committed to supporting those who work tirelessly to ensure riders and outdoor enthu - siasts can continue to enjoy our nation's outdoor spaces." In the fourth quarter of 2023, the funding cycle focused on projects aimed at educating and inspiring the next generation of motorized and outdoor recreation enthusiasts. Two notable recipients were Cycle Kids, Inc. and the Strider Education Foundation, which engage elementary school-aged children in bike riding fundamentals as part of the physical education curriculum. Ad - ditionally, the Sierra Foundation will provide local fifth- and sixth-grade students the opportunity to attend the Rich Oliver Mystery School 4-week Ride & Wrench camp to learn motorcycle riding and maintenance skills. CN Yamaha and its volunteers celebrate the company's largest annual Outdoor Access Initiative funding total since its inception in 2008.
