SCHOLTZ LANDS
A RIDE
Mathew Scholtz was in South Af-
rica when he had the rug pulled out
from his 2024 season with the an-
nouncement Westby Racing would
close for 2024. The South African
had been a MotoAmerica Super-
bike veteran, starting in 2016 and
earning five race wins and 52 podi-
ums, all for Westby Racing. Now,
Scholtz will be in the MotoAmerica
Supersport series on the Squid
Hunter Racing Yamaha team.
Scholtz was tight-lipped about the
deal at Daytona but relieved to land
a seat in what has the potential to
be the most competitive class in
MotoAmerica in 2024.

Troy Herfoss' remarkable debut in
the King of The Baggers series on
the factory S&S/Indian Motorcycle
entry marked the third differ-
ent nation to stand on the KoTB
podium. America, obviously, holds
the greatest number of podiums,
followed by Northern Ireland with
Jeremy McWilliams. Somehow,
we have a feeling Troy won't have
any problems adding to his and
Australia's podium tally in the
class this year.

Andy DiBrino was involved in a
sickening crash during the first
Mission Foods Super Hooligan
National Championship event,
tangling with another rider and
slamming into the wall entering
the banking. The Portland native
was knocked out and suffered a
