turn later. This two-for-one pass
allowed Lawrence to take over
the race as he sprinted away
and set the fastest lap of the
race by nearly two seconds.
Despite it being his first trip to
Daytona on a 450, think back to
how Lawrence excelled last year
and get back to racing."
He still managed to come
around third and set his sights

27 MALCOLM STEWART
7TH 450SX
Malcolm Stewart continues to im-
prove with a season-best seventh.
"The main event, the track went away
really fast, and it was a typical, really
hard Daytona. At the end of the day,
we ended up P7—it could have been
better, could have been worse. My
headspace is okay."
37 MAX ANSTIE
8TH 250SX EAST
Max Anstie won his heat race but
struggled in the main after a bad
start. Despite it not being a stellar
night for Anstie, he retains the red
plate after a hard-fought eighth in
the 250SX main. "The heat-race win
was nice!" he said. "I wanted a strong
performance in the main, obviously,
having the red plate and the track be-
ing right up my alley; I did want to be
able to fight for a win. Unfortunately, I
had a fan issue [with the motorcycle]
early on, so the bike got really hot,
real quick especially with my not
ideal start. I salvaged an eighth and
somehow still have the red plate!"
