The 250SX West division
returned to action in Arizona
after their week-long break and
RJ Hampshire proved to be the
man to beat. The Anaheim 1
winner sat back in the opening
laps while the two leaders diced
back and forth. This allowed
Hampshire to close in and be
ready if an opportunity present
-
ed itself. Once Jordon Smith
slid out on
the hard Arizona
dirt, Hampshire slid into the top
spot and never looked back.
This is the first season where
week was rough, and I wasn't
even sure that I'd be able to race
this weekend, but we got through
the day, and I'm just grateful that
we have a scheduled weekend
off coming up next week, so
that should really help the heal
-
ing process a lot. The way the
results
went tonight, I didn't lose
too many points, so I'm still right
in the title fight."
Sexton's KTM teammate,
Aaron Plessinger, salvaged
a 10th after crashing out of
second in the early stages of the
main event.
Dylan Ferrandis logged a sixth
ahead of Cooper Webb and
Malcolm Stewart.
"No excuses," the Anaheim 2
winner, Webb, said. "I just strug

gled all night to find comfort
and
the pace to run up front."
Chase Sexton, the points
leader coming into Glendale,
finished ninth after a mid-week
practice crash left him with a
bone contusion on his left hand.

salvage points toward the cham

pionship after hurting my hand
this week,"
