a quick move early in the race on Webb and started to hit my marks and pull away. The last race did not go the way I wanted. I made a mistake in the second whoop section and went down. I quickly got up and tried to work my way back up the field to salvage a podium spot. I was frustrated to find out after the race I was docked a posi - tion, causing me to finish fourth overall." Chase Sexton earned fifth overall with 1-11-2 results. After starting the night with a win in the first main event, Sexton then found himself in a tight battle during race two with a crash that dropped him out of the top 10. He later bounced back in race three with a second after Lawrence hit the dirt on the final lap. Sexton's still second in championship points stand - ings, just four behind teammate Plessinger. "The first race was good," said Sexton. "The second race I came through the pack and then had a stupid crash, which put me back, then the third race was this whole night. I tightened up in the first moto, and then in the second moto, I rode good behind Coop [Webb], and then unfortunately, Jett got me there at the end. I just calmed down after that first one and rode a really good night." Jason Anderson put on a clinic to take the win in race two and rebounded from a crash in race three to cross seventh at the line. This comeback ride put him third overall with 4-1-7 results, but a penalty in race three dropped him one position to eighth and, therefore, fourth overall. Anderson skipped the whoops on the opening lap but didn't appear to gain an advan - tage as he ran in 22nd position. However, the AMA saw things differently and felt Anderson "gained an advantage" while off-track, which qualified him for the penalty. "The first race was decent," Anderson said. "I had a good battle with Kenny [Roczen] and finished in fourth. The second race was a good one for me. I got a great start and then made ROUND 4 / JANUARY 27, 2024 ANGEL STADIUM OF ANAHEIM / ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA P60 to the San Diego Supercross, and it's still unclear as to when he might return to service. Before the A2 race, Team Manager Lain Southwell did say, "...it looks like he will miss the next few rounds." PRADO'S LAST NIGHT MXGP champ Jorge Prado rode his final Supercross of the year before heading back to Europe. The Spaniard extended his stay an extra week to race round four of the championship, where he finished 12-8-15 for 12th overall. "Just finished my racing here in the U.S., and it's been a great experience. I would say that this was my second real Supercross behind Anaheim 1 because this one and A1 seemed like the track was more realistic to Supercross with the conditions. I'm happy with my progress; the Triple Crown today was way different again. So much speed and intensity in the first laps, and I struggled with that, especially in the first one. I dropped back to P12 quickly, so I made more adjustments for the other two. But overall, I am quite satisfied; it's been a good experi- ence." WHO YOU GONNA CALL? The Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas Team's partnership with Sony Pictures saw them promote the new Ghostbusters movie throughout the night show. Justin Barcia drove the famous Ghostbusters station wagon into the stadium during the opening ceremonies, and the team's gear resembled the same outfits worn in the film. Briefly...
