Landers Joins Gillim at Vance & Hines H-D for KOTB V ance & Hines will field a mix of experience and youth in MotoAmerica's 2024 Mission King of The Baggers Champion - ship with the announcement that Rocco Landers will join 2023 Champion Hayden Gillim. Landers, one of the predominant young stars of MotoAmerica with titles in the Junior Cup and Twins Cup and multiple wins in Supers - port, will replace James Rispoli at Vance & Hines, who heads over to the Factory Harley-Davidson Screa - min' Eagle team for 2024. "I'm so excited for the season to get here," Landers said. "I've never had an opportunity like this, and I plan on making the most of it. I got the chance to test the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson this off-season and I felt comfort - able on it straight away. It will be a lot of fun racing in that class, and I can learn a lot from Hayden [Gillim] and the team. Let's go racing!" "I'm really happy with the team we've put together for the 2024 season," said Vance & Hines Motorsport owner Terry Vance. "We've got a good mix with Hayden and Rocco, and I know we're going to get good results from both of them. Hayden had a tremendous year and brought us our first King Of The Baggers title and we know he will be at the front again this year fighting to de - fend that title. Rocco brings a lot of youth to the team, and I think he will be a quick study and will surprise people with his speed on the bagger." Cn WIND IN THE P50 Laguna Seca Raceway Under Threat T he historic Laguna Seca racetrack is being sued by the "Highway 68 Coalition," a group of an unincorporated association of property owners living and owning property in the Highway 68 corridor of Mon - terey County, and they want the facility shut down. The Coalition claims the Raceway is "a public nuisance and has caused and will continue to cause irrepa- rable injury not subject to money damages." According to the website The Drive, the facility already oper - ates under strict limitations, which include abiding by noise ordinances and limited op - erations per year, among many other restric- tions. The Coali- tion says motor vehicle racing events, rentals of the racetrack, and noise levels at LSRA have "intensified and expanded over the level of use and noise that existed at the time [of] legal nonconforming use was established and are therefore a violation of Respon - dent County's Zoning ordinance and a public nuisance." The complaint was filed on December 12, 2023, with Mon- terey County. According to The Drive, the second-closest development is also a suburban neighborhood, built around a country club that opened after the track's con - struction. CN Laguna Seca Raceway is being sued by a group of property owners who want the facility shut down.
