News 50 years ago... We also tested the Penton 250 and asked the
question, can any 250cc dual-purpose bike be worth $1600? We
said it was... Nine hundred riders turned out for Yamaha's Learn To
Ride Trials weekend in San Diego. Mick Andrews was one of the
instructors, and L.A. Dodgers baseball star Maury Wills was one of
the students... We caught up with MX legend Gary Bailey.

LOOKING BACK I
Our attention was on the West Coast CMC Golden State and East
Coast Winter-AMA Motocross Series 40 years ago. Johnny O'Mara,
Rick Johnson and Mark Barnett were just some of the many stars
that showed up at Lake Huron in California, while Kenny Keylon and
Tom Rice took the Pro-class wins at Wheelsport MX Park in Florida...
