I had really good speed last year, and now we got to get that back, and we'll be in a good spot." Red Bull KTM's Aaron Pless- inger had a solid race. After taking an impressive second to Roczen in his heat race, Pless- inger held eighth after the first lap of the main, made a couple of quick passes on Supercross rookie and current MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado and two- time A1 winner Justin Barcia and then was elevated to fourth four laps from the end when Webb crashed. AP held it there to the finish. "It was a good start to the season," Plessinger said. "I felt great all day, and then yeah, the heat race went great. I got second behind Kenny but came from a way back, and then I got a good jump in the main event but kind of forgot how to said Sexton, who admitted he wasn't up to speed on the KTM coming into A1. "I went out there and tried to salvage every - thing I could. If you saw me a couple of weeks ago, you'd say, 'This guy is not doing very good at A1,' but every day I ride the bike, I get more comfortable. "But I'm happy to be on the podium," he added. "It wasn't, like I said, my best riding, but it's a long season, and like last year shows, you got to be there for every race. I feel like my consis - tency is better this year. I just got to get a little bit more speed. ROUND 1 / JANUARY 6, 2024 ANGEL STADIUM OF ANAHEIM / ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P68 57 NATE THRASHER 21ST 250SX WEST Star Racing Yamaha's Nate Thrasher went down hard in the 250SX main event on Saturday night while running in sixth place. Despite not finish- ing, he mentioned he's "all good for next weekend." Thrasher is credited with 21st position and scored one championship point in the process. "I felt pretty good going into the night show," Thrasher said. "We finished third in the heat and got a decent start in the main, but unfortunately, I crashed about halfway through the race. I hit a kicker on the hip jump and went down pretty hard. I'm feel- ing pretty sore, but we're all good for next weekend. It's not how we wanted to start the season, but that's racing." MYOWNRACE (Above) Anderson wasn't on everyone's radar coming into Anaheim 1. Now he is. A1 didn't get off to a good start for either Chase Sexton (1) or Hunter Lawrence (96) when they went down in their heat race. Sexton rebounded, but Lawrence went to the LCQ and didn't make the cut.
