Wentzel Wins, Rieju Sweeps Buffalo Riders Hard Enduro Q uinn Wentzel led a Rieju sweep at the Buffalo Rid- ers' AMA U.S. Hard Enduro Fall Series final in Kingston, Arkansas, December 3. After passing fellow Rieju rider Hayden Mosa for the lead after the first check, Wentzel never looked back and took the check - ers 26 minutes ahead of Mosa. They were the only two riders to finish on the lead lap after the four-hour-plus multi-lap race. Mason George made it an all-Rieju podium by finishing third. GasGas rider Josh Staley was fourth and Husqvarna rider Jeremie Lanthier fifth. Wentzel, Mosa and George also went 1-2-3 in the five-race championship. "Today was good," Wentzel said. "I got off to an okay start, probably about fourth or so. Today was a go-slow-to-go-fast, slow-and-steady-wins-the-race, type of day out there. I went slow and steady and picked my way to first pretty quick. I was just trying to stay calm out there and not push too hard. It was tough, tons of slick rocks, and if you're pushing too hard, mistakes will jump up at you quickly. I kept the mistakes to a minimum and put in a solid four hours. I came home with a pretty solid win, so I was stoked on that. I ended up getting the championship, too, so that was good. I got three wins and one second out of the last four races, and that was enough to snag the championship by a couple points." "I had some clutch problems on lap two," Mosa said. "The clutch kept completely going out, then it would just come back. So, that had me frustrated. I just want to say sorry to anyone that I may or may not have agitated when I was up here in the pits causing a scene. Other than that, it was a good day." "I didn't have the best luck to - day," George said. "I was kind of on the struggle bus today; didn't get much sleep yesterday. I felt like I rode decent. I feel like I did good [in the overall Fall Series]. I'm hoping next year I can be a lot better." CN OVERALL 1. Quinn Wentzel (Rie) 2. Hayden Mosa (Rie) 3. Mason George (Rie) 4. Josh Staley (GG) 5.
