The former 2005 San Francis-
co Supercross winner announced
he'll be mounting a comeback
to professional racing at the ripe
age of 40. "Lano," who last raced
in 2012, is set to return with Team
Faith in the 250SX West Coast
Regional Championship and will
undoubtedly be the oldest racer
on the gate come A1. Team Faith
also recruited 20-year-old Robert
Hailey, who will contest in the
250SX East.
"I've been riding Supercross
now for eight weeks and the past
few weeks, I've been getting a lot
better," said Laninovich. "I started
training on September fourth, just
mountain biking and hitting the
gym. That's when I got a bike, too,
and I rode outdoors for a month.
Then in October, I got on the Su-
percross track. I'm not doing this
to get into the night show or even
the main event. I want to be up
there battling with these kids. If
I can be battling with the guys in
the top 10, I'd be stoked."
