T he KTM 790 of 2019 signaled the start of Mattighofen getting serious about the midsize ADV segment, but as the years grew, so did its capacity, now topping out at 889cc—and soon it'll get the 2024 Duke's 947cc motor. Not really a midsize anymore, right? KTM seems to have thought so, too, and has announced they'll be bringing back the 790 for 2024. It'll be the base model, no 790 Adventure R, as that model is now solely the domain of the 890 Adventure (KTM has dropped the base 890 Adven - ture and will only be offering the 890 Adventure R in 2024).
