just edging Roczen for the final
spot.
The SX2 division saw Jo Shi-
moda make his racing debut with
the Factory Honda HRC team.
The Japanese rider wasted no
time winning the first two main
events aboard his new ride. An
early mistake in race three put
him 13th on lap one and forced
him to pass his way into a
podium position. French native
Tom Vialle proceeded to take
the final win, while Shimoda still
earned the overall victory with a
third-place finish.
Shimoda picked up where he
left off on Sunday by again win
-
ning two of three main events.
He crashed at the start of race
two but still salvaged a third,
matching his worst result of the
weekend.
Anthony Bourdon stole the win
in race two after passing Vialle in
the final turn.
Another win in race three
sealed the deal, as Shimoda
earned the Prince of Paris crown
ahead of the two Frenchmen,
Vialle and Bourdon. Shimoda is
the first Japanese rider to earn
this title in the race's 40-year his-
tory.
